Admission Process

The Academy for Design and Technology is proud to be one of four academies offered to incoming 9th graders.

Please see the Austin High Academies admission page for more information about admissions:

• Students who reside in the Austin High attendance zone will complete an academy preference survey (due in February).
• Students who do not reside in our Austin High attendance zone may apply for a curriculum transfer.
• In February, all students (both attendance-zone and accepted curriculum transfer students) are placed in academies based on a blind lottery system. Our goal is to place students in their 1st or 2nd choice academy, provided space is available in the preferred academy.
